Apparently, Metamoorans are capable of reading minds and on occasion respond telepathically. The mind reading is done by Mrs. Rudolph in issue 6. It's not clear if she's also able to respond with the mind or only read it. Phobos on the other hand clearly calls upon Cedric with his mind. We don't know if this is a normal state in Metamoor or something special only few residents are capable of.
Across the first several issues, we get to see a multitude of communication devices and magic. For example Cedric has a book inside the bookshop on Earth through which he can call on Vathek. The blue Galhot appears to him in a wavering flame. Vathek on the other hand has a bracelet with a small screen through which he can see Cedric's face.
Finally, we also get to see a bit of observation magic. Through bubbles, flames or other spherical magic, Cedric, Phobos and Elyon can see what is happening elsewhere. The communication in this case goes only in one direction, which is why I call them 'TVs' whereas the 'Telecom' Systems, the signal goes both ways. Whether these 'TVs' are possible due to general magical forces in Metamoor, special devices that allow this or through the magic of these three individuals, is unclear.
