Meridian and the Metaworld

Sadly, Metamoor, Meridian or what you want to call it is filled with contradictions across the comic series. However I will try my best to bring everything to light and will offer some thoughts in violet how loose ends could be interpreted.

The place called Meridian in the original comic series takes on different forms. Many names float about such as Meridian, Metaworld and Metamoor. While in the main comic issues, Meridian seems to be a big city covering a whole planet, in the Elyon special it is still a big city, but there is a kingdom with landscapes and villages around it. There it is also explained, that Meridian is the seat of the royals which have been female only by law, since ancient times.

As for the names 'Metamoor' and 'Metaworld', it becomes clear that most inhabitants call their world Metamoor, while outsiders call it the Metaworld.

The world is among the oldest in the known universe and it is indicated that it has fallen to evil more than once, most recently under the reign of Phobos (read more on the veil). It is comparably small and glows in a bright white light amongst the stars.

While the Metaworld seems very alike to Earth's medieval times, it has a variety of physical and natural laws that make it unique. With a different time system and language, magic and strange creatures, it can become a most intriguing study object. 

For centuries the world has suffered from a darkness, one that was so bad that Kandrakar built 'the net' or 'veil', a magical barrier around it so nothing could get out. The situation in Metamoor worsened considerably with Lord Phobos taking the throne after the disappearance of regent Weira along with her husband and young princess Elyon. Latest gossip revolves around the long lasting conflict between the Escanor siblings and the crowning of the new queen.

There are several ways to get to Meridian or the Metaworld, however all of them include the use of magic. Portals, magical items, magic in general are the only means to enter or leave the Metaworld.
